A hands on practical approach to color theory for fiber arts
2½ or 3 day workshop
An intensive workshop covering color theory as it applies to weaving and other fiber-related arts.

Participants explore color theory concepts in different media, including fabric swatches, yarns, fiber, paint, and woven samples.

While translating color theory concepts into workable schemes, participants learn the true meanings and applications of color terminology such as: subtractive vs. additive; visual mix; different primary systems; secondaries; teriaries;
tri-chromatics; value gradations; simultaneous contrast; after image . . . discovering why some color schemes work, and why others fail.

On the surface this is a class may appear easy, and we endeavor to have a fun, relaxed classroom, but in reality there is a lot of ground to cover and a good deal of work associated with it.

Participants leave with a binder of color drafts, samples, and a CD of dye formulas.
